We are looking for a Debt Settlement Company Specialist to join our Tempe law firm. No previous collections experience is required. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in customer service, call centers, sales, account services, hospitality, or other customer-facing positions who is ready to build a new career. You'll receive training to help you learn the role, applicable regulations, our systems, and effective negotiation techniques. As an Debt Settlement Company Specialist, you will communicate with debt settlement agencies and consumers regarding delinquent accounts and work with them to identify appropriate payment arrangements or settlement options. What You'll Do Communicate with Debt Settlement Agencies and consumers by phone regarding delinquent accounts. Work with Debt Settlement Agencies and consumers to establish payment arrangements and settlements. Use professional communication and negotiation skills to help resolve accounts. Handle inbound and outbound calls in a professional and respectful manner. Accurately document account activity and consumer communications. Meet established performance goals for calls and account resolutions. Follow Firm policies, client requirements, and applicable State and Federal regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Work with supervisors and managers to resolve escalated or unusual account situations. Maintain professionalism and quality service while working toward individual and team goals. Have basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills. Previous Debt Settlement or Collections experience and knowledge of the FDCPA are a plus, but are not required. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening. Marijuana is not included in pre-employment drug testing. No credit check is required.
