Summary We are seeking an accounting assistant to join our team at Bauman Law APLC. In this role, you will be responsible for managing collections related to personal injury cases and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This team member ensures timely receipt of settlement funds, communicates with insurance companies, and maintains accurate records in our case management and accounting systems. Ideal candidates will have a strong eye for detail, and a proactive work ethic. Prefer someone with excel experience. Responsibilities Communicate with insurance adjusters and legal representatives to collect settlement payments Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely resolution Log and track incoming payments. Maintain proper documentation for all payment activity Record all transactions accurately in the firm's case management and accounting systems Prepare payment reports for accounting team Coordinate with medical providers and lienholders for disbursement, as needed Ensure compliance with internal procedures and client trust accounting rules Analyze accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions related to collections. Collaborate with legal staff to ensure seamless communication regarding client accounts. Mail check to client's, doctors and attorney's offices. Verify payment amounts match accounting ledger. Requirements Prior experience in collections, preferably in a legal or medical setting, preferred. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally. Basic understanding of medical billing and collection processes. Excellent mathematical skills for accurate account management. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
