Company Overview Lotane & Associates, P.A. is a debt collection and subrogation law firm located in Cocoa, Florida. Serving Brevard County since 1979, we represent clients throughout Florida in debt recovery and insurance subrogation matters. Our clients include insurance carriers, hospitals, credit unions, banks, physician practices, and commercial businesses. Our attorneys and staff are dedicated to recovering outstanding debts and losses efficiently and compliantly on behalf of our clients. About the Role As a Collections Agent at Lotane & Associates, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients by recovering outstanding debts. This position involves contacting debtors by phone, negotiating repayment arrangements, and resolving delinquent accounts in a professional and compliant manner. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing them to navigate sensitive conversations effectively while maintaining a results-driven approach. Success in this role requires consistency, professionalism, and a commitment to achieving recovery outcomes. This is an in-office position, not a remote opportunity based in Cocoa, FL.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break and two paid 15-minute breaks. Enjoy your evenings and weekends off. Key Responsibilities Utilize a dialer system to contact debtors regarding overdue accounts Negotiate and establish payment arrangements based on financial situations Provide accurate and up-to-date account and payment information Maintain professionalism while adhering to all ethical standards and applicable laws Handle debtor questions, concerns, and disputes with empathy and assertiveness Accurately update account notes, payment arrangements, and activity in the system Conduct follow-ups to ensure timely payments and resolve outstanding issues Collaborate with internal teams to support recovery efforts and achieve goals Process credit card and ACH payments accurately and securely Assess financial situations to recommend appropriate payment solutions Represent clients professionally while pursuing debt recovery Perform basic skip-tracing to locate and contact debtors Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Additional certifications in collections or related fields are a plus Knowledge of FDCPA, HIPAA, and applicable state laws preferred Minimum of one (1) year of collections or call center experience Proven ability to manage high-volume calls and meet performance goals Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to handle challenging conversations professionally Proficiency with dialer systems and CRM software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team What Were Looking For A motivated and dependable team player who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
