Deficiency Collector - Oak Brook, IL ( In-Office Position Only ) Responsible for locating and contacting customers to find payment solutions to pre charged-off or charged-off auto loan accounts. Job Responsibilities:
Review assigned accounts to determine account status, collection strategy, payment history, collateral information, and prior collection efforts before initiating customer contact. Contact customers in assigned queue to collect payments on pre charged-off and charged-off accounts. Strive to get the deficiency balance paid in full, settled or make mutually acceptable payment arrangements. Negotiate settlement agreements in a professional manner and in compliance with department guidelines. Utilize collection systems, dialer technology, payment processing applications, and internal resources to effectively manage assigned accounts. Conduct skip tracing activities to locate updated customer contact information, employment, assets, and other available resources to assist in collection efforts. Identify accounts that meet criteria for legal referral and obtain required account information prior to submitting referral request. Accurately document all collection activity, customer conversations, payment commitments, reason for delinquency, and relevant account information in accordance with company standards. Assist the department with incoming calls, outgoing calls, text messages, emails, and chats and bring accounts to a satisfactory conclusion. Monitor payment arrangements and perform timely follow-up on broken promises, pending settlements, and scheduled callbacks. Effectively manage assigned work queues by prioritizing payment arrangements, callbacks, legal referrals, and aging accounts while meeting or exceeding established individual and/or team collection goals. In every aspect of job performance, comply with all federal and state laws, internal policies/procedures and call quality standards and consumer protection regulations. Refer accounts requiring supervisory authorization to a supervisor and identify customer concerns or disputes, resolving or escalating them in accordance with company procedures. Maintain a professional and customer-friendly manner with each account. Display a willingness to take direction, work cooperatively with management and co-workers, and project a positive demeanor.
