full-time Collections Specialist New York City | On-Site | $70,000-$80,000 A well-established NYC commercial HVAC company with more than 50 years in business is seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join its Service & Maintenance division. The company supports more than 1,000 clients throughout the New York metropolitan area and offers the stability of a long-standing organization with an energetic, team-oriented environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of collections, building relationships with customers, solving problems, and seeing the direct impact of their work. You'll work from a beautiful, newly relocated NYC office with a supportive manager who provides thorough training, encourages independence, and is open to new ideas and process improvements. Responsibilities Manage high-volume collections and proactively follow up on past-due accounts Build relationships with customers while resolving billing and payment issues Submit invoices and statements for outstanding balances Process and accurately apply customer payments Research and resolve account and payment discrepancies Prepare account status reports for management Perform AR reconciliations and assist with monthly billing Manage customer portals and ensure billing and supporting documentation are accurate Set up new maintenance contracts and ensure inspections and services are properly billed Review the financial performance of maintenance contracts and individual accounts Assist with pricing negotiations and opportunities to improve margins Requirements 4+ years of high-volume collections experience Strong knowledge of collections procedures and best practices Proven ability to independently manage a collections portfolio and drive results Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with customer accounts and payment application Strong customer service, communication and follow-up skills Ability to research and resolve billing and payment discrepancies Proficiency with Excel and Outlook Vista experience is preferred, but not required Must be comfortable working on-site in NYC, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Construction industry experience is not required

Salary:
