EOE Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Collection/Payables Specialist to support our accounting and administrative operations. This role focuses primarily on accounts receivable collections, accounts payable processing, and assisting with various accounting and HR-related tasks. A strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent communication skills are essential. Key Responsibilities Collections & Accounts Receivable Monitor and manage past-due customer accounts. Contact customers to collect outstanding payments in a professional manner. Research and resolve misapplied, missing, or disputed customer payments. Coordinate with external collection agency when internal efforts are exhausted. Prepare and process daily bank deposits using remote scanning tools. Apply customer payments and perform deposit reconciliations. Accounts Payable Receive, review, and verify vendor invoices for accuracy. Ensure invoices receive proper management approval. Obtain missing invoices and supporting documentation as needed. Prepare payments including check runs and credit card transactions. Maintain organized, accessible records and documentation. General Accounting & Administrative Support Maintain AR/AP reports, spreadsheets, and other internal accounting files. Track and update Subcontractor Certificates of Insurance and customer Tax Exempt Certificates. Assist with routine and ad hoc accounting or human resources projects. Qualifications 2-year Accounting degree required. Previous accounting experience (AR/AP or related fields preferred). Proficiency with current accounting software and reporting tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
