Mission of Insurance and Collections Specialist The Insurance and Collections Specialist's direct support is the Operations Director. The mission of this position is to assist patients and team in understanding and applying insurance benefits and help maintain a healthy company cash flow by collecting on current and past due accounts.
Key Accountabilities Process Claims:
Submit and track insurance claims promptly to ensure timely reimbursement.
Verify Benefits:
Check and document patient insurance coverage before scheduled appointments.
Resolve Claims:
Monitor outstanding claims and provide requested documentation to insurers.
Manage Collections:
Secure payments on current and past-due patient accounts.
Update Records:
Maintain accurate patient accounts and brief the business team on statuses.
Master Policies:
Develop deep expertise in the practice's most frequently used insurance plans.
Support Operations:
Handle miscellaneous administrative duties to maintain efficient office workflows.

Maintains composure, discretion, and a positive attitude in high-stress situations.
