Credit & Collection Analyst

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY
The Credit Analyst's responsibilities include assisting with the credit investigation process for new customers, auditing existing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining customer files; fulfilling clerical duties which may include filling, data entry, and other duties determined by the Credit and Collections Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist with the credit investigation process for new customers including requesting credit references, analyzing credit reports, and contacting customers if additional information is needed, upload documents, and notate all information obtained during the credit investigation process into OneNote. Setup new customer accounts and recommend credit lines and terms.. Review customer files and request updated paperwork if needed. Audit sales volume/payment history and recommend credit line adjustments to the Credit and Collections Manager as needed. Contact customers with past due balances to ensure timely payments. Document daily collections activity. Respond to customer requests such as but not limited to providing invoice copies, statements, and researching payment discrepancies. Work closely with team members and salespeople to resolve customer issues. Update and maintain prospect and project tracking spreadsheets. Enter and update project information as needed into the Commercial Credit and Collections Services (NCS) system to ensure lien rights are protected. Special projects/tasks deemed necessary as needs arise. Perform additional assignments per the Manager's direction.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL
SKILLS and
EXPERIENCE
2+ years of experience with commercial credit and collections, administration and clerical duties. Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail. Proficiency in PC skills including MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, OneNote) with the ability to quickly learn new systems. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires regular sitting, reaching, walking, talking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and keyboarding. May occasionally lift/or move up to 25 pounds. Includes close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision with ability to adjust focus.
