The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, insurance deductibles, co-ins, and patient out of pocket responsibility. In this role, you will be responsible for managing same day appointment verifications, patient billing questions in office, taking patient phone calls, collecting patient balances, re-submitting claims, and ensuring accurate reimbursement for services rendered. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth financial operations of our healthcare facility while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using appropriate coding systems such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, coding updates, and regulatory changes affecting medical billing practices. Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to input data accurately and manage patient billing information efficiently. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses, procedures, or coding details as needed for accurate billing. Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient records at all times. Skills Proficiency in medical billing procedures and familiarity with medical coding systems including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD
coding, and DRG classifications. Strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to interpret complex medical records. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and record management. Knowledge of medical collection processes and effective strategies for claim follow-up. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in billing documentation. Ability to adapt quickly to regulatory updates and changes in insurance policies. Prior experience in a medical office environment is preferred, along with a solid foundation in healthcare administrative practices.
