STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Telecare will deliver and manage excellent services and systems of care for persons with serious mental illness.POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Billing Clerk performs a variety of clerical tasks within the Business Office, including billing and collection activities. Incumbent must maintain accurate and detailed records.Shifts Available:

Monday- Friday Expected starting wage is $23.
QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year of general office experience is required. High School graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent is also required. Necessary skills include the ability to type 50 words per minute, 10 key experience and excellent public relations and communication skills. The ability to read, write and speak English is crucial, as is the willingness to work mentally impaired adults. Applicant must receive clearance from the Department of Justice.KEY RESULT AREAS MISSION, VALUES AND BELIEFS
Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with clients, the public and other staff members.QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF WORK
Performs tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures. Performs billing activities, including: Maintaining the central files of Health Benefit eligibility verification for all current and discharged clients. Routing Health Benefit verification as requested. Assisting the Business Office Manager with private insurance billing; including telephone calls to delinquent payers, mailing bills and computer input. Acts as liaison with Medi-Cal on field office nurse, preparing TARs, locating health records and other related duties. Handles various tasks for corporate office, forwarding census and client liability information. Responsible for distributing and recording patient banking activities. Assists with eligibility determination. Assists Business Office Manager with all aspects of payroll preparation, accounts payable, and invoice research. Sets up financial charts and verifies benefit status on new clients.TEAM MEMBER PARTICIPATION
