Job Overview We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable / Credit Risk Analyst to join our Accounting team. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, this hybrid role supports accounts receivable processes while evaluating customer credit risk and assisting with credit decision-making. The successful candidate will collect and analyze financial information, assess creditworthiness, monitor customer accounts, prepare credit reports, and support recommendations related to credit limits and payment terms. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and customers in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and accounts receivable transactions. Creates and submits customer invoices in accordance with company procedures. Maintains and updates customer account information. Monitors customer accounts, researches discrepancies, and resolves billing issues. Contacts customers regarding past-due accounts and follows up on collection efforts. Gathers, analyzes, and evaluates financial information to determine the creditworthiness of new and existing credit applicants. Performs cash flow analysis and calculates financial ratios to assess credit risk. Recommends credit decisions, including new accounts, credit limit increases, and extensions of existing credit lines. Enters, updates, and maintains credit application and customer account information. Collaborates with the Accounting Manager to reconcile accounts receivable and revenue accounts. Assists in preparing monthly billing statements and financial reports. Ensures compliance with company credit policies and applicable procedures. Responds to inquiries from customers, lenders, and internal departments. Assists with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and supporting records. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education - Associate's degree in accounting required; Certified Credit Risk Analyst Certification, or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred. Experience - Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounts receivable, credit and collections, credit analysis, or general accounting required
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain professionalism, and handle confidential information with discretion. Demonstrated initiative with the ability to anticipate work needs and identify process improvements. Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships. Advanced computer skills with experience and working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience in Agvance accounting software is helpful but not a requirement. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, 10-key calculators, copiers, and other office technology. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Pay:
$28.50 - $35.00 per hour
