Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Billing Specialist & Treatment Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team. This role is vital in ensuring smooth financial operations and effective patient communication, contributing to an exceptional patient experience. As a key member of our practice, you will manage d,dental insurance verifications, dental insurance claims, process billing, and coordinate treatment plans with precision and enthusiasm. Your expertise will help streamline office workflows, maximize insurance reimbursements, and foster positive relationships with patients and insurance providers alike. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit dental insurance claims using billing software and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, ensuring accuracy in coding such as DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards. Verify patient insurance benefits, explain coverage details to patients, and assist with pre-authorizations for dental procedures. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collections strategies to optimize revenue recovery. Coordinate treatment plans by discussing financial options with patients, explaining treatment procedures, and scheduling appointments efficiently. Maintain comprehensive medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare claims management protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Utilize Microsoft Office tools alongside specialized billing software to generate reports, track billing status, and manage patient accounts accurately. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding billing statements, insurance processes, and payment options with professionalism and clarity. Experience Proven experience in medical or dental billing with a strong understanding of healthcare claims management processes. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used in dental practices for documentation and billing purposes. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental procedures and treatments. Hands-on experience with medical coding including
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10 classifications, and ICD coding standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel; experience with billing software is highly preferred. Excellent communication skills coupled with a customer service-oriented approach to support patients through their financial journey.
