Job Description

We are looking for a Medical Billing & Coding specialist to join our team here at LGTC Group. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in medical billing, with the skills necessary to improve their current billing procedures. The applicant will work on a number of tasks, exercising their billing experience within the practice. We are looking for individuals who have a desire to grow and learn within the organization, expanding their billing knowledge and experience. Duties Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts. Setting up patient payment plans and work collection accounts. Knowledge of eligibility, benefits & billing with various HMO and PPO insurance company Experience with insurance verification and collecting payment. Experience speaking to patients/families and counseling on financial matters. Experience with full-cycle billing, coding, and claim follow-up. General knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
Qualifications:
Experience working in a medical office Ability to use knowledge of correct CPT and ICD-10 coding to acquire claims payment. Knowledge of HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal and other payer requirements and systems. Knowledge of HIPPA regulations and maintains the confidentiality of patient information. HS Diploma Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment Knowledge of medical terminology Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, HCFA 1500, UB04 claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, insurance benefits, and appeal process Attention to detail, able to prioritize workload Able to work independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills Proficiency in MS Office and Patient Management software Checking eligibility and benefit verification for treatments and procedure Correspondence with insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if needed Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness Coordinate with clients to ensure all outstanding bills are collected Ability to appropriately assign modifiers Ensure accurate and timely claim processing This is a full-time position in-person at our San Jose location
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
