This position combines customer service, patient intake, insurance verification, documentation management, and billing responsibilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and committed to providing exceptional service to patients, referral sources, and healthcare providers. Schedule Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Additional hours may become available based on business needs Occasional on-call availability may be required Essential ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Patient Support Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, caregivers, referral sources, and healthcare providers Provide professional, courteous, and compassionate customer service Process patient referrals and coordinate service needs Respond to patient questions and concerns in a timely manner Maintain positive relationships with patients and referral partners Patient Intake & Documentation Establish and maintain accurate patient records Collect, review, and maintain required medical necessity documentation Ensure documentation meets company, payer, and regulatory requirements Assist with obtaining authorizations and supporting documentation Billing & Insurance Responsibilities Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage requirements Submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and other third-party payers Monitor claim status and follow up on outstanding claims Assist with denial management and claim resolution Communicate with insurance companies regarding billing and reimbursement issues Maintain accurate billing records and patient account information Respond to patient billing inquiries professionally and courteously Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements Participate in company training and quality improvement activities Assist with accreditation surveys and audits as requested Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Previous customer service experience Strong communication and organizational skills Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications Preferred Experience in DME, medical billing, healthcare administration, home health, or a related healthcare field Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing Experience with insurance verification, claims processing, authorizations, or accounts receivable follow-up Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday Frequent use of computers, telephones, and office equipment Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Sick Leave Ongoing training and professional development Opportunity to grow with a locally owned healthcare company About We Care Medical Supply & Equipment At We Care Medical Supply & Equipment, our mission is to improve the lives of our patients by providing quality medical equipment and exceptional customer service.
