Ophthalmology Location:
Kaufman Eye Institute Kaufman Eye Institute is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication skills, and is committed to accuracy and outstanding patient service. Previous ophthalmology billing experience is strongly preferred.Responsibilities:
As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will:- Prepare, review, and submit accurate insurance claims in a timely manner.
- Ensure claims are compliant with insurance guidelines and payer regulations.
- Investigate, resolve, and follow up on claim denials, billing discrepancies, and complex ophthalmology billing issues.
- Work closely with our Billing Supervisor to ensure efficient revenue cycle management.
- Communicate professionally with insurance companies, physicians, staff, and patients regarding billing questions.
- Maintain accurate patient accounts and documentation.
- Stay current on insurance regulations, coding updates, and ophthalmology billing requirements.
- Assist with other billing and revenue cycle duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous medical billing experience required.
- Ophthalmology billing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of medical insurance regulations, claim submission, and payment posting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the billing team.
