Job Description
Job description Pediatric therapy clinic looking to hire a full-time medical billing specialist. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing company in our Woodstock administrative building. Candidate must be located locally in order to start. This position entails billing responsibilities and maintaining the overall health of accounts receivable for Medicaid, managed care organizations, and commercial insurance carriers. The right candidate must have experience posting a high volume of claims, be flexible, be able to multitask, and be comfortable in a fast environment. Candidate will maintain timely claim submission, active follow up on denials & communicating with insurance carriers to resolve reimbursement discrepancies. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Prepare medical claims for electronic submission to Medicaid and commercial insurance carriers
- Identify and resolve any claim delay issues that impact billing and collections
- Post payments
- Verify insurance benefits
- Review correspondence and rejections from insurance carriers, post and reconcile.
- Accurately interpret EOB and collections reports
- Follow up on all unpaid claims from billing & denials through final resolution.
- Manage the status of accounts and balances and identify inconsistencies.
- Initiate and track appeals as necessary
- Provide timely notation of action taken on patient accounts
- Obtain prior approvals from insurance companies for services
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements:
- Experience as a Medical Biller
- Billing certifications a plus
Skills Requirements:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good organization and time planning skills
- Ability to multi-task and follow up on necessary projects
- Ability to apply problem solving techniques
- Good interpersonal skills
- Computer skills a must
- Understanding of CPT codes and ICD-10 a must
