Who We Are Axis Therapy Centers is a multidisciplinary pediatric clinic offering ABA therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology services to children and families across Iowa. Our clinicians are exceptional at what they do and this role makes sure insurance never gets in the way of a child accessing their care. You wont just be processing paperwork. Youll be protecting access to life-changing therapy for kids who need it. What Youll Own Youll manage the full authorization lifecycle for ABA therapy services from initial requests through approvals, follow-ups, and appeals while serving as the primary point of contact between our clinical team and insurance payers.

Your core responsibilities include:

Obtaining and verifying treatment authorizations for ABA therapy services with accuracy and urgency Submitting authorization requests on time and in compliance with each payers guidelines Monitoring authorization status and proactively following up to keep things moving Communicating directly with insurance providers to resolve issues, push back on denials, and get answers Maintaining accurate, compliant records of all requests, approvals, and denials Supporting the appeals process when authorizations are denied youre not done until every option is exhausted Collaborating closely with our clinical and RCM/Billing teams to keep authorization workflows running smoothly Identifying trends in authorizations and contributing ideas to improve the process What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent (required) Experience with insurance authorization processes or medical billing (strongly preferred) Strong communication skills youre confident on the phone with payers and clear in writing Detail-oriented and deadline-driven nothing slips through the cracks on your watch Comfortable exercising independent judgment and making decisions without being micromanaged A calm, persistent approach when navigating complex payer situations Why Youll Love Working Here Your work has a direct, visible impact on the kids and families Axis serves A collaborative team that includes clinical, billing, and administrative staff all working toward the same goal A mission-driven culture where the work actually means something Supportive leadership and room to grow as the organization expands
