Job Description
Medical biller for an ENT physician's office in Buffalo Grove
- Responsibilities include: As a medical biller, you will be processing and posting Insurance and patient payments Receive and initiate patient calls to resolve billing or payment concerns Review and communicate with Insurance, regarding open accounts receivables Work unpaid claims on Waystar electronic edits for submission to Insurance Appeal denied and unresolved Insurance claims via online websites and paper Researching and processing refund requests As a medical biller, you will work patient A/R and collections Utilizes monthly aging reports to identify overdue balance greater than 60 days Establishes and monitors patient payment plans agreements within approved guidelines•obtains approval from Revenue Cycle Manager when necessary Obtain and maintain patient confidentiality As a medical biller, you will perform other tasks and projects assigned by the
Revenue Cycle Manager Requirements and Experience:
- 1-2 years Medical billing or equivalent work history in the medical field
- Insurance background
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- CPT
- ICD-10
- Reading an Explanation of Benefits
- eClinical Works and Waystar is a plus
- Otolaryngology Specialty is a plus
- Covid-19 vaccine required All potential candidates must be a team player and self-starter.
Educational Requirements:
- High School diploma required
- College preferred
- Certified coder preferred
Typical Physical Demands:
Work may require sitting for long periods of time, and also stooping, and bending, and stretching for files and supplies. The employee will occasionally be asked to lift files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Position requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, computer, telephone, calculator, copier, and such office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. The position also requires viewing computer screens and typing for long periods of time.Job Type:
