Job Description

Physical Therapy Billing & Insurance Specialist Physical Therapy Company | Centralized Billing | 23 Locations We are a growing outpatient physical therapy organization with 23 clinic locations seeking a Physical Therapy Billing & Insurance Specialist to join our centralized corporate billing team. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment supporting physical therapy clinics only. This position focuses on physical therapy billing and insurance operations , including Workers' Compensation (WC), Personal Injury (PI/Attorney cases), and commercial insurance plans . This role does not involve general medical coding across specialties.
Primary Responsibilities:
Submit and manage physical therapy claims for commercial insurance carriers Process Workers' Compensation (WC) and Personal Injury (PI / attorney-based) billing Send bills, medical records, and required documentation to insurance companies and attorney offices Perform insurance benefit verification for outpatient physical therapy services Post insurance payments, adjustments, and denials accurately and timely Review and approve treatment encounters for billing accuracy and completeness Track, follow up, and resolve unpaid, underpaid, or denied claims Scan, upload, and maintain billing and patient documentation within the EMR Communicate with clinic staff, insurance carriers, and attorney offices to resolve billing issues Support centralized billing operations across multiple clinic locations in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
Experience in physical therapy billing, rehabilitation billing, or medical billing Experience with Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury billing preferred Knowledge of commercial insurance plans and benefit verification Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume billing environment EMR and billing software experience preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Why Join Us Centralized billing team supporting 22 physical therapy clinics Fast-paced corporate environment Opportunity to grow within a specialized physical therapy revenue cycle role Full-time, stable position Important Note This role is specific to outpatient physical therapy billing and insurance processes and does not involve general medical billing or coding for multiple specialties.
