Behind every great dental practice is a knowledgeable billing professional who helps patients understand their benefits, ensures claims are processed accurately, and keeps the financial side of the practice running smoothly. We're looking for someone who is experienced, detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys solving problems. The ideal candidate understands dental insurance, takes ownership of accounts, and is passionate about helping both patients and the practice succeed.
What You'll Do:
As our Dental Billing Coordinator / Billing Manager, you'll be responsible for the financial health of the practice by ensuring insurance claims and patient accounts are handled accurately and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
Submit dental insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner Monitor outstanding insurance claims and aggressively follow up on unpaid or delayed claims Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) Post insurance payments and patient payments accurately Reconcile insurance payments with EOBs Identify and correct claim errors before submission Appeal denied or underpaid claims when appropriate Verify insurance benefits and eligibility as needed Calculate patient estimates and explain treatment costs clearly and compassionately Present financial arrangements and payment options to patients Maintain accurate patient ledgers and account balances Contact insurance companies regarding claim status and benefit questions Work with patients to resolve billing questions and account concerns professionally Generate monthly billing statements and manage patient collections respectfully Track Accounts Receivable and work toward established collection goals Ensure accurate coding and documentation supports claim submission Collaborate with the front desk and clinical team to ensure complete and accurate information is submitted Maintain compliance with HIPAA and insurance regulations Identify opportunities to improve office systems and billing efficiency What We're Looking For The ideal candidate: Has previous dental billing experience (preferred) Has experience using Dentrix Ascend (strongly preferred) Understands PPO insurance plans, claim submission, and coordination of benefits Is highly organized and detail-oriented Can prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines Is confident communicating with insurance companies and patients Takes ownership of Accounts Receivable and follows claims through to payment Has strong problem-solving skills and enjoys investigating claim issues Maintains professionalism and confidentiality at all times Is dependable, self-motivated, and proactive Enjoys working as part of a supportive team Skills & Qualifications Minimum 2 years of dental billing experience preferred Experience with Dentrix Ascend preferred Strong understanding of dental insurance terminology and claim processing Experience posting insurance payments and reconciling EOBs Knowledge of CDT codes and insurance billing procedures Accounts Receivable management experience Insurance appeals and claim follow-up experience Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong computer proficiency Exceptional organizational skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality Bonus Qualifications Experience with: PPO fee schedules and insurance credentialing Electronic claims and ERA processing Insurance aging reports Collections and patient financing Financial reporting and practice performance metrics Process improvement and workflow optimization Why Join Westmont Family Dental Care? Schedule:
Mondays and Thursdays, 9-5 Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 1-7 1-2 Saturdays a month, 9-2 The hours can be a little more flexible for the billings manager The Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who doesn't just process claims, they take ownership.
