Monday-Friday Position Overview A busy rural health clinic is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining professionalism with patients, staff, and external agencies. Key Responsibilities Prepare, submit, and process insurance claims and patient service bills Maintain accurate patient files, including insurance information, diagnoses, services, billing, and correspondence Reconcile patient accounts and track payment activity to ensure timely reimbursement Follow up on unpaid or denied claims Perform quality control on new accounts and update/change codes per Rural Health Clinic policies and procedures Request medical records from outside agencies as needed by clinic staff Generate reports on total amounts billed and payments received Maintain compliance with established departmental policies and procedures Required Skills & Qualifications Above-average interpersonal and communication skills Ability to communicate professionally with patients, staff, and the public Strong written communication skills (letters and email correspondence) High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software Working knowledge of: CPT and ICD-10 coding systems Medical terminology Basic anatomy and physiology Preferred Experience & Education High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Minimum of 3 years of experience in: Medical billing ICD-10 coding Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Short- and long-term disability Paid time off (PTO) 401(k) with employer matching Bonus pay opportunities Work Location & Commute In-person position Must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to Campbellsville, KY 42718 prior to start date Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and enjoys contributing to a growing rural healthcare organization in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
