codes, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications for procedures and diagnoses. Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to access patient information and update billing data efficiently. Verify health insurance coverage, process claims submissions, and handle patient inquiries related to billing and payments. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim statuses, and correspondence for audit readiness. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper coding practices align with medical terminology and coding standards. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing, coding (including
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
), and healthcare claims management. Familiarity with DRG systems, medical coding principles, and insurance processing procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications along with experience using billing software and EMR/EHR systems. Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and medical records management. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies. Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately and maintain meticulous records. Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred; certification in medical coding or billing is a plus.
