Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Familiarity with medical coding and abstracting Ability to meet productivity and accuracy standards Knowledge of coding guidelines and compliance requirements Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively Experience Requirements One year of Billing experience required. Assign diagnostic and procedure codes to records for discharged patients and coordinate follow-up on deficient or delinquent discharge records, under the direction of a senior-level employee. Perform duties appropriate to the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service.Essential Job Functions include:
Identify medical records for reimbursement, data analysis, research, and regulatory compliance Input coded data into computerized health information systems Maintain accuracy and completeness of coded information Request clarification from physicians on missing or unclear diagnoses or procedures Identify and track record deficiencies related to coding Audit incomplete charts and investigate missing records Maintain accurate and reliable patient and organizational records Adhere to HIPAA regulations related to the handling of patient information Follow all applicable safety practices and participate in incident reporting as required Perform other duties as assignedWhat Sets BRG Apart:
