This position is responsible for running account aging reports; analyzing/researching why specific accounts remain unpaid; working with health plan representatives and other employees to resolve problematic claims, then resolving unpaid claims by either re-billing the services; facilitating a write-off or refund, or by filing an appeal to the third- party payer.
Pay:
$23 - $25

Apply today and make a difference where it matters most! Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Runs an aging report on unpaid accounts, then re-bill claims, sends out billing statements, and facilitates write-offs, client refunds, and appeals to third party payers. Performs various collection actions including sending out a variety of collection letters in the mail, setting up payment plans with clients over the phone, monitoring repayment of these payment plans, and sending accounts to an outside collection agency. Provides customer service to clients, internal staff, and third party payers by researching accounts to determine if the claim was billed correctly by EOSIS and paid correctly by the client's health plan. Attends staff meetings promptly. Works in a manner that uses time efficiently. Complies with and helps to develop and support standards, policies, procedures, and supervision.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
Education:
High school graduate or
GED Experience:
Four years' experience providing billing, reimbursement, or claims management in a healthcare setting. General office equipment such as a computer, multi-line telephone, photocopier, adding machine, mail meter, and fax. Physical Requirement Close visual perception (computer workstation). Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to hear and to communicate effectively (phone use).
