About the
Role:
Lead the billing team and oversee medical billing and collection functions for the Community Mental Health & Wellness division. Oversee revenue cycle management and performance, financial accuracy, and compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and payer requirements. Develop and document operating procedures and manage the integrity of billing and information systems. Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines, coding standards and payer contracts. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can analyze financial data to provide insights that support strategic decision-making, including monitoring claim submissions and accounts receivable, reviewing rejected or underpaid claims, direct appeals and resolving payer disputes to maximize cash flow and minimize claim denials. Ultimately, the Billing Manager contributes to the financial health and transparency of the organization by maintaining robust billing and accounting practices and controls, and supporting the billing team with third party billing and receivables management to optimize revenue cycle performance.
Qualifications:
BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, and minimum of 5 years medical billing experience, with at least 2 years of supervision and management experience required. Certification in Medical Billing or Coding (CPC, CPB) also required. Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) preferred. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and proficiency in accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel. Proficiency with medical billing systems, accounts receivable, and revenue cycle management. Familiarity with healthcare regulations and CMS guidelines strongly preferred. Must have excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
