Airfield Electrical Systems Journeyman (Aviation Facilities)

Monday-Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Compensation:

$44-$48 per hour, plus bonus potential Step into an evening at MSP As the airfield comes alive, you arrive ready to keep the power flowing. From lighting systems that guide aircraft to the control panels that keep operations running, your shift is a blend of inspections, fixes, and upgrades. You'll partner with airport teams, coordinate with project managers, and respond quickly when issues arise—always with safety and code compliance at the forefront. What you'll do Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures across airport facilities Ensure every task meets applicable electrical codes and safety regulations Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components; identify root causes and resolve issues Inspect electrical systems to spot hazards and determine adjustments, repairs, or replacements Plan layouts and execute installations of wiring, equipment, and fixtures per specs and local codes Direct and train team members on installs, maintenance, and repairs Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics Perform routine maintenance to ensure reliability and uptime Follow all safety policies; use appropriate PPE Coordinate with other airport departments on projects and repairs Manage preventive maintenance schedules and periodic system checks Operate construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing instruments Respond to emergency calls for electrical repairs Collaborate with project managers on large-scale electrical initiatives Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards Perform additional duties as assigned About you 18 years of age or older Eligible to work in the United States Must have a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record Valid Journeyman Electrician license Proven journeyman-level experience in industrial or commercial electrical systems Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking) Comfortable accessing and interpreting information in print and electronically; proficient with iPads/Tablets, computers, and mobile devices Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients in person and through electronic channels Pass a background check and drug screen Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable) Airlines are 24/7, so flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is sometimes needed Physical demands and work environment Lift up to 70 pounds Stand and walk for prolonged periods in indoor/outdoor conditions Reach with arms; grasp with hands Push and pull equipment and materials Crawl and crouch in tight or confined spaces Bend, stretch, squat, and kneel Climb and work at elevated heights Work around moderate to occasionally high noise Hear and respond to spoken instructions and audible alarms Perform repetitive motions of arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers Vision requirements: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Pay and benefits Hourly pay: $44-$48, plus bonus potential Benefits include 401(k) with company match; health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid time off; growth opportunities; and more (
