Job Description

Billing Clerk This organization plays an important role in supporting the local community by providing essential services and maintaining a strong focus on reliability, customer service, and efficient operations. It offers a professional work environment and an opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day needs of the community. The Billing Clerk provides customer service and clerical support for utility billing, payment processing, customer accounts, and front office operations. Working under established policies and procedures, the position assists with daily collections, billing inquiries, account maintenance, and general administrative tasks.
Wage:
$20 to $24/hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through
Friday Essential Functions and Duties:
Serve as the primary contact for customer billing inquiries by phone, email, and in person Process and accurately post daily customer payments, including cash, checks, credit cards, ACH, and online payments Assist with monthly utility billing, including account setup, final bills, payment arrangements, and online payment options Prepare receipts, delinquent account notices, and routine billing correspondence Provide clerical and administrative support, including filing, record organization, and document retention Maintain professional and responsive customer service while assisting with general office needs
Qualifications:
Previous office, billing, bookkeeping, or customer service experience preferred Basic knowledge of office procedures, customer service practices, and billing concepts Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with the public Accurate and detail-oriented when handling financial transactions and computer-based records Ability to follow established procedures, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple tasks efficiently High school diploma or equivalent Get in touch!
