Chiropractic Medical Billing Specialist Weig Chiropractic Center | Charlotte, NC Part-Time | $20-$23/hour | Flexible Schedule About the Position Weig Chiropractic Center is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our small, established chiropractic practice on a part-time basis. We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of medical billing experience who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working independently. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of insurance billing and accounts receivable and will take ownership of the billing process from claim submission through payment and resolution. Chiropractic billing experience is a plus, but is not required. This is a great opportunity for an experienced medical biller who enjoys a smaller practice environment, values flexibility, and takes pride in keeping billing accurate and accounts moving. Responsibilities Submit and manage medical insurance claims accurately and timely Review claims for accuracy and resolve billing errors before submission Monitor unpaid, pending, rejected, and denied claims Follow up with insurance companies regarding outstanding claims and payments Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and unpaid claims Submit corrected claims and appeals when appropriate Manage and follow up on accounts receivable Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient payments accurately Review EOBs and ERAs and reconcile payments Identify and investigate outstanding balances and discrepancies Communicate with insurance companies and payer representatives as needed Utilize insurance payer portals to research claim status, eligibility, benefits, and payment information Maintain accurate billing records and documentation Monitor payer-specific requirements and billing changes Assist with insurance credentialing and payer enrollment issues as needed Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements Communicate billing issues clearly with the office when follow-up or additional information is needed Take ownership of billing issues and follow them through to resolution Maintain organized records and provide updates on outstanding billing matters Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience Experience with insurance claims and accounts receivable Experience handling claim denials, rejections, and unpaid claims Knowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement processes Experience reviewing EOBs and/or ERAs Experience with payment posting and account reconciliation Experience communicating with insurance companies and payer representatives Comfortable navigating insurance payer portals Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to research problems and determine appropriate next steps Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision Comfortable working with confidential patient information Proficiency with computers and medical billing/EHR software Preferred Qualifications Previous chiropractic medical billing experience Experience with ChiroTouch Familiarity with chiropractic CPT and ICD-10 coding and modifiers Experience with Medicare and Medicaid chiropractic billing Experience with personal injury (PI) and/or workers' compensation billing Experience with insurance credentialing and payer enrollment Experience handling appeals and complex billing issues What We Offer $20-$23 per hour , based on experience Part-time position Flexible scheduling Consistent, ongoing work Small, established private practice environment Opportunity to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities Direct communication with the practice team Supportive and professional work environment Long-term opportunity with an established practice Schedule Part-time hours with a flexible schedule. Pay:
