The primary functions of this position are to process home health billing for multiple payers, manages accounts receivable from admission to satisfaction of balance due, ensure follow-up of denied claims, collections, payment processing and perform other billing functions to aide in the smooth flow of work in the billing department. Performs other duties as assigned.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES 1.
Ensures accurate billing for all Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial insurance and private pay claims depending on assigned payers. 2. Follows up on delinquent accounts. 3. Maintains patient billing files, EMR billing notes and light typing/correspondence. 4. Organizes and performs work effectively and efficiently. 5. Maintains and promotes customer satisfaction. 6. Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision and values of the Agency on a daily basis.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS 1.
Education:
High school diploma. AS in business related curriculum helpful. 2. Licensure /
Certifications:
None 3.
Experience:
Two years of experience in business office, preferably medical office, required. Home Health experience preferred. 4.
Essential Technical/Motor Skills:
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, typing of 30 wpm, basic technical or medical knowledge of home health billing requirements. Advanced customer service skills to respond with simple answers. 5.
Interpersonal Skills:
Teamwork and communication skills essential. Must communicate precisely, verbally and in writing. 6.
Essential Physical Requirements:
Long periods of sitting or standing, walking, lifting and carrying files, reaching, stooping, long periods of data entry. 7.
Essential Mental Abilities:
Ability to concentrate with large volumes of data entry, handle pressure of deadlines, good judgment, ability to follow procedures, ability to work independently. Ability to work in fast paced environment. Must have excellent organizational skills and mathematical aptitude. Able to research and resolve problems independently before referring to supervision. 8.
