Bilingual Medical Billing Specialist - Chiropractic & Physical Therapy Atlas Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Center is looking for an experienced, bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Billing Specialist to manage the full billing cycle for our chiropractic and physical therapy practice. We need someone who has done this work before, knows the ins and outs of chiropractic/PT billing specifically, and has a proven track record of collecting on outstanding balances and keeping accounts receivable current. This is not an entry-level role — we're looking for a true billing expert who can hit the ground running. What You'll Do Manage end-to-end billing for chiropractic and physical therapy services, including charge entry, claim submission, and payment posting Submit and follow up on insurance claims (personal injury/PIP claims/major medical), correcting and resubmitting denied or rejected claims promptly Proactively pursue outstanding balances and aged accounts receivable, with a demonstrated history of reducing AR days and recovering overdue payments Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to visits Communicate directly with patients — in both English and Spanish — regarding balances, payment plans, and billing questions in a clear, professional, and empathetic manner Liaise with insurance carriers, adjusters, and attorneys to resolve claim disputes and outstanding balances Process and reconcile payments, adjustments, and write-offs accurately Generate and review aging reports, flagging accounts that need escalation or collections follow-up Maintain accurate, compliant patient billing records in our Eclipse practice management system Stay current on chiropractic/PT billing codes (CPT, ICD-10), modifiers, and payer-specific rules What We're Looking For Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, spoken and written, required Minimum 3+ years of hands-on medical billing experience specifically in a chiropractic and/or physical therapy office (required — please describe your specialty billing background in your application) Proven, verifiable track record of successfully collecting on outstanding and aged patient/insurance balances Strong working knowledge of chiropractic and
PT CPT/ICD-10
codes, modifiers, and common payer denial reasons Experience with Eclipse practice management/billing software strongly preferred Experience with NJ no fault and NY personal injury/PIP processes and fee schedules Excellent communication skills and comfort discussing balances and payment plans directly with patients Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision Experience with developing and compiling arbitration files Solid understanding of HIPAA and patient billing confidentiality requirements
Pay & Schedule Pay:
$22.00-$26.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule:
Part-time, approximately 20-30 hours per week
