Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Orthopedic Billing Representative, where your expertise will drive efficient medical billing processes and ensure accurate reimbursement for orthopedic services. In this vital role, you'll manage the entire billing cycle, from coding procedures to resolving insurance claims, all while providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medical coding and insurance protocols will help streamline operations and support our commitment to quality patient care. Duties Review and accurately code orthopedic procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications to ensure precise billing. Prepare and submit healthcare claims via billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, adhering to payer guidelines. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by analyzing reasons for rejection, resubmitting corrected claims, and communicating with insurance companies to expedite reimbursements. Maintain comprehensive medical records, including documentation of procedures, diagnoses, and patient interactions, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Assist patients with billing inquiries, explain insurance benefits, and facilitate payment plans or collections as needed. Collaborate with healthcare providers to verify patient information, treatment details, and coding accuracy for billing purposes. Stay updated on healthcare claims management policies, medical coding standards, and insurance regulations to ensure ongoing compliance. Skills Proficiency in medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD
coding systems, and DRG classifications. Strong knowledge of healthcare claims management processes and medical billing procedures. Experience working with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent understanding of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and medical records management. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex billing information clearly and professionally. Ability to analyze claim rejections thoroughly and implement effective resolution strategies. Prior experience in a medical office setting specializing in orthopedics or similar specialty is highly preferred. $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
