Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Support with daily billing operations § Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits § Post insurance and patient payments and identify reimbursement discrepancies § Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) § Follow up on denied and pending claims § Prepare and submit claim appeals § Notify the Revenue Cycle Manager of credentialing, enrollment, or reimbursement issues § Maintain accurate documentation of all billing activities § Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Revenue Cycle Manager or department leadership Education and/or

Work Experience Requirements:

§ High School diploma § Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience preferred § Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and commercial insurance billing § Strong organizational and time management skills § Excellent written and verbal communication skills § Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook § Knowledge of New York State behavioral health billing regulations, including OMH Article 31 and OASAS services, is preferred.
