In this role, you will be responsible for managing client billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in invoicing, and maintaining strong communication with clients and internal departments. Your expertise in accounting systems, financial software, and customer service will drive efficiency and uphold our commitment to exceptional financial management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a collaborative environment dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and send client invoices using billing software and accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy in financial records. Manage collections accounts by following up on overdue payments and resolving billing discrepancies promptly. Enter data accurately into spreadsheets and accounting software, utilizing Excel formulas and analysis skills to support financial reporting. Conduct account analysis and journal entries to maintain proper ledger balances in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements. Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries, payment status, and account issues via phone or email, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills. Assist with month-end closing processes, including account reconciliation, data entry, and preparing reports for management review. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a solid understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation. Familiarity with financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems; experience with billing software is highly desirable. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (formulas, data analysis, spreadsheets). Knowledge of GAAP standards and SOX compliance practices related to financial reporting. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and account analysis. Ability to communicate clearly with clients and internal teams while demonstrating professionalism via phone etiquette. Experience managing accounts receivable and collections accounts; background in governmental or non-profit accounting is a plus. Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to perform Excel data analysis and account reconciliation efficiently. Basic math skills including 10 key typing accuracy; familiarity with technical accounting principles is advantageous.
