Job Summary:

VNA of Albany is currently seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our billing department. The billing specialist supports the billing function by verifying monthly insurance, accurately managing payer change process and performs tasks within the billing function.

Job Duties:

Reviews insurance and billing information. Follows up on denied or rejected insurance claims. Identifies collection issues on unpaid accounts. Starts the collection process when needed. Re-bills claims or accounts when necessary. Oversees the timely billing and collection of patient services and medical supplies. Prepares patient accounts for collection. Reviews overdue accounts with the Senior Billing Specialist. Works with the agency's collection company. Updates job procedures as needed and reviews them yearly. Helps billing staff resolve problems and billing issues. Completes tasks within required deadlines. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in business with 2 years of experience or a high school diploma and 4 years of bookkeeping or billing experience. Medical Billing Experience Knowledge of EPIC (Highly preferred) Experience with third-party reimbursement preferred. Computer proficiency required. Knowledge of third-party billing requirements

Pay:

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
