Join Our Billing & Insurance Team Total Health & Wellness is looking for an experienced medical billing and insurance professional to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who understands that successful medical billing is more than submitting claims. This position requires someone who can understand insurance, identify problems, communicate with payers, advocate for our patients and facility, and help patients understand their coverage.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Previous medical billing/insurance experience is required Strong understanding of health insurance, eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copays and coverage Must be very familiar with Availity and electronic health record (EHR) systems AdvancedMD experience is a major plus Experience verifying and validating insurance coverage Understanding of claims, denials, authorizations and insurance requirements Comfortable calling insurance companies and resolving coverage or billing issues Strong computer and phone skills Professional, dependable and detail-oriented Able to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Verifying and validating patient insurance Reviewing coverage and identifying insurance issues before appointments Contacting insurance companies regarding benefits, claims and coverage questions Advocating for both the patient and the facility when working with insurance companies Explaining insurance benefits, coverage and patient responsibility in a way patients can understand Calling patients when insurance or scheduling issues arise Assisting with rescheduling appointments when necessary Working closely with providers, clinical staff and the billing team to keep accounts accurate and moving forward Helping resolve denials, discrepancies and other insurance-related issues The more medical billing and insurance experience you bring, the better! We need someone who is confident picking up the phone, calling an insurance company, asking the right questions and continuing to work the issue until there is an answer.
