Job Description

Material Distributors is seeking a talented Collections Assistant to join our team. The Collections Assistant will perform a variety of duties and work with a variety of internal departments and external customers to ensure accounts receivable balances are kept accurate and current. This is an in-office position. This position has the strong potential for advancement within the accounting department under this job criteria.
Job Responsibilities:
Print AR reports for collection purposes Communicate with customers via email and phone to collect open balances Update notes in database for collection purposes Collect Certified Payroll and Enroll SubContractors for
OCIP/CCIP
Programs Complete payment waivers Coordinate with the Billing Administrator to obtain waivers from vendors Coordinate with the Sales Associates and Executive Assistant for all closeout documents Maintain and update job files as needed Work with internal departments to respond to and resolve customer billing questions Other projects as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
High School degree or equivalent required; Associates or bachelors degree preferred Strong computer literacy skills 1-3 years of general accounting, accounts receivable and collection experience Proficiency with Microsoft office products Advanced Excel skills Experience in the construction industry is a plus Ability to communicate effectively and professionally Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High degree of ownership for projects, a sense of urgency and strong follow-through
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 20.0 per week
