Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely reimbursement from insurance providers. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, coding systems, and medical terminology to support efficient revenue cycle management and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using appropriate coding CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards. Review and verify medical records to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes. Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims through medical collection processes to maximize reimbursement. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, coding changes, and healthcare regulations. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document billing activities and patient information. Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies and clarify medical records when necessary. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to medical billing and coding. Assist in managing patient accounts, including payment posting and account reconciliation. Skills Proficiency in medical billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and related technology platforms. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards. Expertise in coding systems such as , CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding methodologies. Experience with medical collection processes and resolving billing issues efficiently. Familiarity with insurance claim submission procedures and reimbursement workflows. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Prior experience in a medical office setting is required. Pay:
Up to $28.00 per hour
