is hiring for an
Asphalt Paving Laborer:
Prepares surfaces, spreads, rakes, and smooths hot asphalt using hand/power tools and assists with operating paving equipment like rollers, ensuring quality and safety while working long hours in demanding conditions. Key duties include site prep (sweeping, measuring), material handling (shoveling, raking), assisting machine operators (screed, roller), traffic control, cleanup, and equipment maintenance, all while adhering strictly to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities Site Preparation:
Clean and prepare surfaces, remove debris, set up traffic control (flagger duties).
Material Handling:
Load/unload materials, transport tools, shovel, rake, and lute hot asphalt to achieve proper thickness and grade.
Asphalt Application:
Assist screed operators, smooth irregularities, apply tack coat (oil) for bonding.
Equipment Operation:
Operate hand/power tools (rakes, shovels, tampers) and assist with machinery like pavers, compactors, and rollers.
Finishing & Compaction:
Work with rollers to smooth and compact surfaces, ensure proper finish.
Maintenance & Safety:
Perform routine equipment maintenance, follow all safety regulations, and clean up the job site.
Essential Skills & Requirements Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand, lift, bend, and work in hot, demanding conditions.
Tool Proficiency:
Familiarity with shovels, rakes, tampers, and paving equipment.
Teamwork & Communication:
Work effectively with crew members and operators.
Safety Focus:
Strong understanding of safety protocols and traffic control.
Flexibility:
Willingness to work varied hours etc. Wage is based on experience. Additional Details
