Job Description

Position Overview Genesis 7 Transportation is seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Ambulance Billing Specialist to support our growing non-emergency and urgent transport operations. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely billing in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance standards . The ideal candidate has prior experience in ambulance billing, strong knowledge of EMS documentation requirements, and the ability to work cross-functionally with dispatch, field crews, and leadership. Key Responsibilities Review and audit PCR/ePCR reports daily for completeness, accuracy, and billing readiness Ensure all required documentation is obtained, including: Physician Certification Statements (PCS) Face sheets and insurance information Medical necessity documentation Submit and track claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers Monitor claim status and perform follow-ups on denials, rejections, and unpaid claims Reconcile billing data between internal systems (e.g., AngelTrack) and billing platforms Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including transport history and payor details Coordinate with dispatch to confirm transport details, scheduling accuracy, and coverage Identify and escalate documentation deficiencies to field crews and supervisors Assist with end-of-month billing processes , reporting, and invoice generation Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and payer-specific billing regulations Track trends in denials and provide recommendations for operational improvement Qualifications Prior experience in ambulance billing, EMS revenue cycle, or medical billing (preferred) Strong understanding of: Medicare/Medicaid ambulance billing guidelines Medical necessity requirements for non-emergency transport Experience working with ePCR systems (e.g., AngelTrack, Traumasoft, or similar) High attention to detail with strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with clinical and operations teams Preferred Qualifications CPC, CPB, or similar billing certification (preferred but not required) EMS field experience or familiarity with ambulance operations Experience handling dialysis, interfacility, and behavioral health transport billing Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay (based on experience) Opportunities for growth within a rapidly expanding EMS organization Supportive leadership and structured operational systems Paid time off (eligibility based on tenure)

$35,500.00 - $38,200.00 per year
