Position Summary We are seeking a Billing/Coder to join our team. This position ensures accurate coding and billing for all patient encounters, supporting the clinic's financial health and compliance with payer and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in medical billing and coding within an
RHC/FQHC
setting, with a strong understanding of community health reimbursement models. Responsibilities
  • Review provider documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes based on clinical notes and payer requirements.
  • Prepare and submit claims through the practice management system.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to claim submission.
  • Post payments, adjustments, and denials accurately.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or rejected claims.
  • Collaborate with providers and staff to resolve coding and billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines, including
RHC/FQHC
billing requirements.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist patients with billing inquiries and payment plans when needed. Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in an RHC or FQHC environment.
  • Certification preferred (CPC, CCA, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements.
  • Proficiency with EHR and practice management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred. Work Environment
  • Office-based or remote work in an environmentally controlled setting.
  • Exposure to clinic conditions may occur but is limited for this non-clinical role.
