Billing Representative Women's Internal Medicine, Inc East Greenwich, RI Job Details Part-time $18 - $22 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Computer operation Medical billing and coding data entry Computer literacy Medical office experience HIPAA Patient management software High school diploma or GED Electronic health record (EHR) management for billing and coding Attention to detail Desktop applications Medical explanation of benefits reviews Computer skills Time management Full Job Description Overview Candidates must have previously worked in the medical billing field. Candidates must have analytical, organizational and time-management skills. Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding. Excellent computer skills, including an understanding of electronic health records. Candidates must know Insurance billing processes to ensure accurate billing and timely reimbursement from insurance companies and other payers. Flexible schedule and possible remote work. Work closely with patients, staff, and physicians within the practice. Responsibilities Posting daily charges CPT and ICD-10 coding Assisting patients with billing questions via telephone and patient portal Assisting staff with insurance or patient billing questions Monitoring accounts receivable Interacting with the insurance companies and electronic health record vendors to process denials, submit appeals, and revise account information Posting patient payments called in (all insurance settlements and patient statements are processed by Athenahealth Must know how to analyze explanation of benefits Must have knowledge of modifiers Respect patient confidentiality Ability to use a personal computer Must follow HIPAA guidelines This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to make a difference in healthcare administration through precise billing practices. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your attention to detail enhances patient care experiences and organizational efficiency, High School graduate or equivalency. Two or more years of work experience as a medical biller.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
