This position requires someone who is comfortable working with detailed financial and insurance information, proficient in Excel, and able to maintain accuracy even when completing repetitive tasks. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with medical billing, insurance verification, payment processing, and record keeping . Strong communication skills are also important, as this position requires regular contact with clients regarding insurance coverage, balances, fees, and payments. This is a hybrid position , with work completed partially from home and partially from our Gastonia office. Key Responsibilities Process Remittance Advice (RAs) and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) using Excel and our electronic medical record system. Post and process client payments accurately to individual accounts. Maintain organized records related to client intakes, fees, balances, and past-due accounts. Contact clients regarding outstanding balances, payments, payment arrangements, insurance information, and other account-related concerns . Prepare and process billing for services provided through Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, Student Specific Services, and other applicable funding sources. Invoice services rendered as appropriate. Review service documentation to ensure required information is complete and accurate prior to billing and notify appropriate staff when discrepancies are identified. Contact insurance companies to verify eligibility, coverage, benefits, and other insurance-related information. Update and maintain client insurance information in the electronic medical record in accordance with State, Federal, payer, and agency requirements. Determine client fees using Support Incorporated's established fee schedule and applicable sliding-fee scale. Monitor client service authorizations and promptly report concerns, expirations, or authorization deficits to supervisors. Assist with follow-up on denied, unpaid, or incorrectly processed claims as needed. Maintain accurate and confidential financial, billing, and insurance records. Qualifications Previous experience with medical billing, insurance billing, or healthcare revenue cycle functions required . Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel . Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to remain precise and focused while performing repetitive and data-intensive tasks. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Comfortable communicating professionally with clients regarding payments, balances, and insurance issues . Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies, clients, and internal staff. Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow tasks through to completion. Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance is strongly preferred. Experience with electronic medical record or practice management systems preferred.
