Duties Process and verify billing transactions using various financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, and specialized billing systems. Manage accounts receivable by generating invoices, tracking payments, and conducting collections account management. Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy, maintaining detailed records of billing activities and account reconciliations. Assist in account analysis and journal entries to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements. Support accounts payable functions by reviewing vendor invoices and ensuring timely payments. Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries, payment issues, or discrepancies via phone or email, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills. Conduct Excel data analysis using formulas and spreadsheets to identify trends, perform account analysis, and prepare reports for management review. Qualifications Basic knowledge of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and revenue cycle management. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft is preferred; familiarity with billing software is a plus. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management. Demonstrated ability to perform accurate data entry and account reconciliation tasks with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and internal collaboration; professional phone etiquette required. Understanding of GAAP standards and SOX compliance is desirable; prior experience in public accounting or governmental/non-profit accounting is advantageous. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data, perform Excel formulas, and analyze accounts efficiently. Ability to handle collections account management tasks including negotiation and credit analysis when necessary.
