Job Description
Medical Billing Specialist

- You'll play an important role in keeping our billing processes accurate and moving forward.
Your responsibilities will include:
Monitor insurance aging queues and follow up on denied or unpaid claims Investigate rejected claims, correct errors, and resubmit claims for processing Prepare and submit corrected claims and insurance appeals Answer patient calls and provide friendly, professional support with billing questions and concerns Help patients better understand their balances and financial responsibilities Partner with coding staff to resolve coding questions and request necessary corrections Post and reconcile insurance payments as needed Review and balance accounts receivable Prepare and mail itemized patient receipts Monitor and submit manual claims as needed Complete other responsibilities related to the role as assigned Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED At least one year of medical insurance billing or customer-focused billing support experience in healthcare At least six months of customer service experience Strong computer, data-entry, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent accuracy and attention to detail Clear, compassionate, patient-centered communication Ability to remain productive, organized, and connected while working remotely Preferred Qualifications•Familiarity with medical terminology and health insurance processes Experience resolving rejected, denied, or unpaid claims Basic accounting experience Experience in ophthalmology or another healthcare specialty Why You'll Love Working Here•At Twin Cities Eye Consultants, you'll be part of a team that truly cares about its patients—and one another.
Position Details Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per weekLocation:
