Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately billing and coding medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining accurate patient records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing practices. Allscripts knowledge is a plus. Pt Collections experience a must.Responsibilities:
- Review and verify patient information for accuracy and completeness
- Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Assist with medical collections as needed
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding systems
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Billing is a plus
- Proven experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of medical billing practices, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and billing software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
