Responsibilities Prepare and submit medical claims using billing software, ensuring accuracy with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards. Review medical records and documentation to verify proper coding for diagnoses and procedures. Manage healthcare claims processing from initial submission through follow-up, appealing denied claims when necessary. Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, payments, adjustments, and collections within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems. Communicate effectively with insurance companies to resolve claim issues and expedite payments. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries related to billing statements and insurance coverage. Stay updated on health insurance policies, coding updates, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance. Experience Proven experience in medical billing or healthcare office administration with a strong understanding of medical terminology and records management. Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and healthcare claims management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, along with experience using billing software platforms. Knowledge of medical office procedures, EMR/EHR systems, and health insurance processes is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
