Medical Billing Specialist Synergy Injury Relief PLLC McKinney, TX Job Details Full-time $21 - $23 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Qualifications Attention to detail Document review Clinical documentation improvement Medical terminology Documentation review Full Job Description Position Summary Synergy Injury Relief is seeking a Medical Biller / Clinical Note Reviewer to review provider notes for completeness and accuracy and prepare medical bills for personal injury cases. This position works closely with providers and staff to resolve documentation issues and ensure completed services are billed correctly and promptly. Responsibilities Medical Billing Enter and review charges for office visits, injections, procedures, and surgeries. Verify correct CPT codes, diagnosis codes, modifiers, and units based on documented services. Apply SIR's approved fee schedules. Prepare and send accurate itemized bills to attorneys and other authorized recipients. Identify and resolve missing charges, duplicate charges, and billing discrepancies. Maintain accurate patient, provider, attorney, and account information. Document billing activity and follow up on billing inquiries and outstanding items. Clinical Note Review Review provider notes for missing information, inconsistencies, and errors before billing and release. Confirm the correct patient, date of service, provider, and visit or procedure type. Check that the documented body part, side, procedure levels, and anesthesia match the services recorded. Review notes for conflicting statements, incorrect copied information, and incomplete sections. Confirm notes include applicable assessment, treatment plan, procedure details, and follow-up instructions. Send questions and correction requests to the treating provider and track them through completion. Follow up on unsigned or overdue notes within SIR's established closure timeframe. Refer clinical decisions and substantive documentation changes to the treating provider. Qualifications Previous medical billing experience required. Experience reviewing clinical notes preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes, modifiers, and units. Personal injury, pain management, or orthopedic experience preferred. Experience with ModMed EMA or a similar electronic medical record system preferred. Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow-through. Ability to manage daily workload and meet deadlines while protecting patient confidentiality. Performance Expectations Accurate and timely billing. Thorough review of notes before billing and release. Prompt follow-up on missing documentation and requested corrections. Clear communication with providers, staff, and the Billing Manager. Consistent completion of assigned work within department deadlines.
Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
