Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Billing Specialist, where your expertise will drive the efficiency and accuracy of our medical billing processes. In this vital role, you will manage the entire billing cycle, ensuring claims are correctly prepared, submitted, and followed up on to maximize reimbursements. Your attention to detail and knowledge of healthcare claims management will directly impact our ability to deliver exceptional patient service and maintain compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit medical claims using billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection practices and healthcare claims management strategies Verify patient insurance coverage, process payments, and resolve billing discrepancies with health insurance providers Maintain detailed medical records, medical terminology documentation, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing information and ensure proper documentation for accurate coding Utilize Microsoft Office tools to generate reports, track billing metrics, and support administrative tasks Qualifications Proven experience in medical office settings with a focus on medical billing or coding Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and health insurance policies Proficiency in billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications Familiarity with CPT coding, DRG classification, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and ICD coding practices Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies and patients Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately and apply appropriate medical coding procedures Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations related to claims processing and patient privacy Join us in making a difference by ensuring seamless billing operations that support quality healthcare delivery.
