Full Job Description Billing Specialist Full-time:

M-F 8am-5pm Starting at $20.00/hr.

This position is integral to our practice and requires working closely with patients, providers, and other staff. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Specialist to join our team. The Billing Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic's financial processes by accurately and efficiently handling billing tasks related to patient accounts and insurance claims.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, fertility benefits, coverage requirements, and prior authorization needs.
• Review, prepare, and submit accurate insurance claims in accordance with payer requirements and coding guidelines.
• Monitor insurance accounts receivable (A/R) and follow up on outstanding, unpaid, or underpaid claims.
• Investigate and resolve claim denials and rejections, including corrections, resubmissions, and appeals.
• Accurately post and reconcile insurance and patient payments, ERA/EOB remittances, adjustments, and other transactions.
• Generate patient statements and assist patients with billing, insurance coverage, balances, and payment questions.
• Manage patient collections, including payment plans, past-due notices, account follow-up, and referral of delinquent accounts to collections when appropriate.
• Assist with month-end reconciliation and billing/collections reporting.
• Maintain accurate billing records and ensure compliance with payer contracts, clinic policies, HIPAA, and applicable healthcare billing regulations.
• Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, insurance companies, and other team members to resolve billing issues and maximize timely reimbursement.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization Self-motivated and a team player Strong problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task Basic understanding of insurance authorization processes (preferred) Financial/Billing experience (Required) Bilingual in Spanish (Highly preferred)
