Job Description

Description of Position:
A busy, growing, surgical subspecialty medical office is searching for a responsible individual with great attention to detail to become a full-time Medical Billing Specialist. The person who fills this position would participate in all aspects of medical billing, payment processing and insurance follow up regarding denied and unpaid claims.
Responsibilities:
Billing medical claims both electronic and paper Billing manually and via EHR (Electronic Health Record) Verifying hospice/skilled nursing effective dates for correct billing Posting of insurance and patient payments Insurance follow up on denied and unpaid claims and appeals submissions Following up on patient collections Responding to written requests from insurance carriers for additional claims documentation Answering patients' billing questions Filling in for other billing staff for adequate vacation coverage Any other duties or responsibilities requested by the physicians or
Accounts Receivable Manager Required Qualifications:
Competent with MS Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook Ability to multitask and stay focused on tasks despite office interruptions Detail oriented and organized Ability to handle sensitive patient information with complete confidentiality Helpful, courteous, and professional demeanor Excellent interpersonal and communication skills •
Beneficial Qualifications:
Previous medical office experience Medical billing experience Familiarity with ICD-10 coding
Position Type:
Full-time (35-40 hours), hourly (nonexempt) Hourly wage: $18-$20/hr (or more commensurate with experience)
Education:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Work Schedule:
8am to 5pm (Mon-Fri) - position is based in our Provo, UT office
